Financial Scholarship – Policyholders
The Sri Lanka Insurance Life ‘Subapathum’ Scholarship Scheme annually rewards 225 outstanding students who excel at the Grade 5 Scholarship, GCE Ordinary Level, and GCE Advanced Level examinations. Children of SLIC Life insurance policyholders who excel at national examinations are eligible to apply.
Since 2014, the Subapathum Scholarship Scheme has been a pillar of encouragement for academically talented students across Sri Lanka. Having awarded over 2,000 scholarships worth more than Rs. 200 million, SLIC Life remains committed to empowering the younger generation to pursue their dreams with confidence.
Annual Applications
The Subapathum Scholarship Scheme opens for applications annually. Eligible students can submit their applications online via the official SLIC Life website www.sliclife.com
Scholarship Allocation
Each year, scholarships are awarded to the top 75 ranked students from each of the following national examinations:
• Grade 5 Scholarship Examination
• GCE Ordinary Level Examination
• GCE Advanced Level Examination
This results in a total of 225 scholarships annually.
• For Grade 5 Scholarship and GCE Ordinary Level, selections are based on district-level performance.
• For GCE Advanced Level, selections are based on national-level performance.
Scholarship Scheme
Financial awards are granted as follows, and the scholarship benefit will be extended for the number of years indicated in accordance with the scheme criteria:

One Time Scholarship (GCE Advanced Level – 1st, 2nd & 3rd National Places) – Non Policyholders
- Students who are not SLIC Life policyholders are also eligible to apply under this category if they have secured 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place at national level in any stream at the GCE Advanced Level examination.
- Eligible candidates may apply online via www.sliclife.com.
- Under this category, a one-time scholarship of Rs. 150,000 will be awarded to students who secure 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place at national level in any stream at the GCE Advanced Level examination.
